My favorite quote said by Ziauddin Sardar, writer and cultural-critic : “We cannot put artists in pigeonholes and say ‘you are a Muslim artist or you are an ethnic artist and you must produce work which justifies your ethnicity or how WE perceive your ethnicity to be. I think artists should be left to express themselves in any way they want and they should not be pigeonholed.[…] They should simply be seen as artists.”
